Dividend History and Stock Split

Scotiabank’s current policy is to pay common share dividends on a quarterly basis. The amount of dividend is announced each quarter and is based on a target percentage range. The dividend policy is typically revisited once per year in Q2. The amount of the dividend takes into consideration capital adequacy, liquidity and other regulatory directives issued under the Bank Act (Canada). The Bank declared its initial dividend on July 1, 1833. Payments have been made continuously since.
