Changes to accounts and service fees
Effective November 1, 2008, some personal banking accounts and service fees will change.

Changing your Scotiabank account is simple and easy. If there is another Scotiabank account that is more suited to your banking needs, you can:

Verify that your account is eligible for online change


The following accounts can be changed online:
  • Basic Banking Plan
  • Basic Banking Account
  • Scotia Value®Account
  • Scotia Powerchequing® Account
  • Scotia Gain Plan® Investment Savings Account
  • Daily Interest Savings Account
  • Blue Chip Account
  • Money Master® Savings Account
All accounts can be changed by calling 1-800-4-Scotia (1-800-472-6842) or by visiting your Scotiabank branch.

To consolidate or close accounts, please visit your Scotiabank branch.

Select a new account


If you already know which account you'd like, go to step 3.

Make the Change


With a list of your intended changes in hand, either call 1-800-4-Scotia (1-800-472-6842), select online change, or visit your Scotiabank branch.


When will the changes be completed?

Please allow up to two weeks for completion of online changes and three business days for requests made through 1-800-4-Scotia.
