Anthony Kiendl

Anthony Kiendl is a curator and writer based in New York City.

He was Executive and Artistic Director of Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art in Winnipeg from 2006 until September 2013. In 2007 he was Leverhulme Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Arts, Middlesex University, London, UK. Previously, he was the Director of Visual Arts at The Banff Centre in Alberta from 2002 until 2006. He served as Curator of the Dunlop Art Gallery, Regina Public Library in Saskatchewan from 1997 to 2002.

Kiendl has lectured internationally and has co-organized panel presentations for Tate Modern, Tate Britain, and Art Brussels. He was curator of Contour 2011: The 5th Biennial of the Moving Image in Mechelen, Belgium. In 2009 he was recipient of the Hnatyshyn Foundation Visual Arts Award for Curatorial Excellence in Contemporary Art.

In May of 2014 he will assume the position of Executive Director of the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
