Visa credit card terms and conditions
Definitions:
· The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:
· “Contest” refers to this Credit and Debit Card Campaign contest and not any other of Scotiabank or its affiliates’ Contests, Programs,
Sweepstakes or Campaigns.
· “Eligible” refers to any individual qualified to participate in this Contest
· “Eligible transaction” refers to transactions considered in the earning of ballots and are limited to the following:
· “VISA Debit”: point-of-sale and online transactions minus returns/credits, and will not include ATM deposits, withdrawals, bill payments or transfers.
· VISA Debit Card : purchases minus returns/credits, and will not include cash advances, balance transfers, credit card cheques, and any fees and/or finance charges.
· “Cardholder” means the card holder of an Eligible Scotiabank VISA credit and or VISA Debit cards
· “Promotion” refers to this promotion and not any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs
· “Acquisition Promotional Period” means from November 1, 2019 to February 29, 2020 inclusive.
· “Lifecycle Promotional Period” means from November 1, 2019 to February 29, 2020 inclusive.
· “Scotiabank” and “The Bank” means Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd, Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited, Scotiabank (Bahamas) Limited, Scotiabank Turks and Caicos and The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd.
This Promotion is opened to legal residents of the Cayman Islands, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks and Caicos, Bahamas and, Jamaica who are 18 years of age or older. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the applicable laws of the named countries.
Eligibility
Only Scotiabank VISA Credit and VISA Debit Cards are eligible for this promotion. Scotiabank’s Scotiacard, and Scotiabank MasterCard Credit Cards are not eligible for this promotion.
This promotion is open to legal residents of Jamaica, Bahamas, Cayman and Trinidad, 18 years of age or older, who hold an eligible Scotiabank VISA Credit or VISA Debit Card, with the exception of employees of The Bank, its respective parent companies (The Bank of Nova Scotia and Bank of Nova Scotia Group) and subsidiaries; their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and/or those living in the same household of any of these employees. Employees of The Bank’s advertising and promotional agencies, as well as their immediate family members, relatives and/or those living in the same households are also not eligible to enter. Eligibility is restricted to Scotiabank VISA Debit Cardholders whose VISA Debit Card is still active at the time of the draw, and Scotiabank VISA Credit Cardholders whose account is in good standing and has not been blocked, frozen, stolen or fraudulently obtained, mislaid, lost or written-off, or delinquent during the Promotional Period or within the past twelve (12) months.
Eligible VISA Debit transactions are limited to point-of-sale and online purchases minus returns/credits, and will not include ATM deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, or transfers. Eligible VISA Credit transactions are limited to purchases minus returns/credits, and will not include cash advances, balance transfers, credit card cheques, and any fees and/or finance charges. In Cayman, the VISA Electron product cannot be used for online transactions; as such only POS purchases will qualify.
How to participate
New Scotiabank VISA Credit cardholders during the Acquisition Promotional Period will earn ballots once their new credit card account is opened and they have completed at least one transaction.

In order to qualify for this promotion, all new credit card and debit cards must be opened and active and show no delinquency in the prior twelve months period of the promotion.
All Scotiabank VISA Credit and Debit cardholders can earn ballots indicated in the table below based on the spend threshold set.
All Scotiabank VISA Credit cardholders will earn one (1) ballot for every transaction great than or equal to the Minimum Transaction Value and an additional five (5) ballots providing their total spend is greater than or equal to the Minimum Total Spend based on the Visa credit card Product as outlined in the table below:

For example:
1. A Scotiabank Classic VISA customer who spends a total of JM$90,000 between November 1 2019 to February 29, 2020, five (5) of which are greater than JM$6,500 minimum transaction value will receive ten (10) ballots for entry.
2. A Visa Aero Platinum customer that spends a total of TT$27,000 between November 1 2019 to February 29, 2020, twenty (20) of which are greater than the TT$1,150 minimum transaction value will receive twenty (20) ballots for entry.
All Scotiabank VISA Debit Cardholders will earn one (1) entry ballot for every three (3) transactions of greater than or equal to:

For example, a customer who completes 20 transactions within the promotional period, 12 of which are greater than or equal to KY$60, will earn 4 ballots (12 / 3 = 4). The 8 transactions that are less than KY$60 would not be eligible for ballot consideration.

Travel is valid for the period from August 3 to August 7, 2020 inclusive only, and cannot be modified or extended. Winner must be available for travel during this period or prize will be forfeited. Scotiabank will not be responsible for changes to the prizes that occur outside of its control.
Draw Details
The winner will be selected by an automated random draw, completed by Scotiabank in conjunction with the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission and/or relevant lotteries or gaming commissions.
The number of winners per country is outlined above. For each winner, two entries will be entered as backup winners.
Draw Date
The draw for the grand prize will be completed during the week of April 6, 2020
Consumer Disclosure / Notification of winners
Winner will be notified by telephone within five (5) days from the date of the draw. Winners will be required to provide proof of their age and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release within five (5) days of the notification to be confirmed as a winner. If the winner declines to fulfill these conditions to collect the prize, their eligibility will be voided and another winner will be drawn from the pool of eligible entries.
Potential winners will be required to complete the below Test of Skill statement correctly before being awarded the prize (Jamaica Only):

Winner must be legally and physically able to travel, and must be able to qualify for the necessary travel documentation (passport, Japanese travel visa, US travel visa, etc.). If the selected winner is unable to meet any of these criteria, their eligibility will be voided, and if time permits another winner will be selected.
Contact will be attempted using the Cardholder’s phone number as found in The Bank’s records or email where available If the winner cannot be contacted by telephone within five (5) days of the draw date The Bank has the right to draw an alternate name.
The winners’ name may be published in the media. The winner must agree to the use of his or her name and photographs without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank.
The winner will be responsible for any taxes, tips, insurance and expenses not explicitly stated as part of their prize.
The use of your eligible Scotiabank VISA Credit or VISA Debit Card to make an eligible transaction constitutes your consent to participate in this Promotion and your consent for The Bank to obtain your name, address and other information for the lawful purpose of administering this Promotion and for other uses as permitted by applicable law. Scotiabank reserves the right, with consultation and approval from Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission and/or relevant lotteries or gaming commissions, to void any and all entries of an entrant who Scotiabank believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest.
To be confirmed as the winner, the Cardholder will be required to provide proof of ownership of the Scotiabank VISA Credit or VISA Debit Card account that was used to win the prize.
Official rules and regulations
This Promotion will run from November 1, 2019 to February 29, 2020 inclusive.
All transactions in local and USD currency are eligible.
VISA Debit ATM deposits, withdrawals, or bill payments are not eligible transactions. VISA Credit service charges, annual membership fees, interest charges and account credit/adjustment transactions are not eligible transactions.
Prizes are not transferable and are subject to change at the sole discretion of The Bank. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. The Bank will not be responsible for changes to the prizes which result from circumstances outside of their control. Scotiabank will issue no representation or warranty in respect of the prize.
Transactions from unauthorized card use or those made with lost, stolen or fraudulent Scotiabank cards will be considered void in the matter of this draw.
In all matters relating to these promotions, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects.
Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotion, the Bank’s decision is final.
These terms and conditions apply only to this Promotion and do not apply to any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with the Bank and any other entity or brand.
By reading this document, the Cardholder is deemed to have accepted all of the applicable terms and conditions.
