Program Optimization from Visa

Card program optimization is a unique, value-added service that Scotiabank can offer your company. We understand that managing costs is a priority and we would like to work with you to review your Commercial card program in order to determine areas where policies and procedures might be revised to realize additional cost savings.

To that end we propose a review of your company's processes using Visa Commercial Card Best Practices.

Upon completion of the Commercial Card Program Review, we will provide you with a benchmark report that compares your current processes against those of best practice companies. The benchmarks were developed by Visa and Deloitte through interviews with over 50 high-performing companies.

This report will include recommendations for specific best practices that you will want to consider in order to improve work efficiencies and reduce operating expenses. In addition, we will help you establish financial cost reduction goals resulting from increased use of the Commercial Card and identify specific types of expenses which could be paid with your Commercial Card to help you achieve those goals.

The overall review will occur in four phases:

• Phase 1 - Spend Analysis: You will be asked to provide payment transaction data including types and amounts of expenditures and suppliers. This data will be analyzed to produce reports detailing Commercial Card expansion opportunities.
• Phase 2 - Commercial Card Program Review: You will be asked to answer 20 questions regarding your Commercial card program foundation, management, and reporting. The answers to these questions will help us select best practices that your company might consider to help you improve the performance of your Commercial Card program.
• Phase 3 - Recommendation Report: We will provide your company with a report benchmarking your Commercial Card program to best practices. The report will include a prioritized list of recommendations to improve your Commercial Card program and identify additional suppliers who may be paid with your Commercial card.
  Phase 4 - Follow-up: We will follow-up with you periodically regarding your progress in implementing the recommendations and be available to help in any way we can.

This Commercial Card Program Optimization Review has been designed to require a minimal amount of time and work from you. If you would like to participate, we will schedule a brief phone call to review the requirements of the payment data file that we will need.
