Overview

Balance Alerts are a type of Scotia® InfoAlert that notify you electronically by email when your balance on your personal bank account or available credit on your personal line of credit or credit card account falls below $100 (or another amount chosen by you as described further below) in the currency of your account(s).

Balance Alerts are designed to help consumers keep track of their finances more easily and avoid any potential applicable fees or interruption in the use of their account. 

You can easily modify your Balance Alert notification amount, change your preferred email address to receive these alerts, opt out of receiving Balance Alerts, opt back in or customize other Scotia® InfoAlerts settings through Scotia OnLine or the Scotia mobile app.

Balance alerts are email notifications that are triggered if your account balance or available credit falls below $100 (or another amount chosen by you).

Scotiabank customers with a personal bank account (including personal bank accounts with overdraft protection) or personal line of credit or credit card and a valid email address on file with us will automatically be enrolled to receive balance alerts, as well as security related notifications through Scotia InfoAlerts.

Yes. Although each account holder/borrower on the account is automatically enrolled into Balance Alerts, each can individually opt out, opt back in, and modify preferences, including the notification amount for Balance Alerts, independent of the other account holders/borrowers, through Scotia OnLine or the Scotia mobile app.
