Laura Gu

Laura Gu joined Scotiabank Economics in November 2021 as an Economist. She primarily focuses on government finance issues, including provincial, federal, and international fiscal developments. She also provides support to auto sector work. Prior to joining Scotiabank, Laura worked as a Senior Economic Analyst at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, specializing in housing finance research. Laura started off her career as a macroeconomic analyst at a Montreal-based investment research provider. Laura holds a Master of Arts in economics from McGill University and a Master of Finance from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
