2004 - You're richer than you think.

Scotiabank introduces You're Richer Than You Think.

2005 - Waterous & Co.

Scotiabank acquires Waterous & Co., a leading global oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures firm founded in Calgary, Alberta.

2005 - Scotiabank Giller Prize - Scotiabank signs on as the first ever co-sponsor of The Giller Prize, an award which promotes great Canadian literature.

Under the new agreement, the award will be known as the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the purse doubles to $50,000.

2005 - National Bank of Greece (Canada)

Scotiabank acquires the Canadian operations of NBG Bank, National Bank of Greece (Canada), comprising 10 branches in Ontario and Quebec.

2006 - Guatemala - Scotiabank acquires a presence in Guatemala through the acquisition of CorporaciĆ³n Interfin in Costa Rica. 

Interfin had leasing companies across Central America, including Guatemala.

2006 - Banco Weise Sudameris - On March 9 Scotiabank completes the acquisition of a majority share in Banco Wiese Sudameris, a Peruvian bank.

Scotiabank combines the operations with those of Banco Sudamericano and rebrands the new entity Scotiabank Peru.

2006 - Nicaragua  - Scotiabank acquires a presence in Nicaragua through the acquisition of CorporaciĆ³n Interfin. Interfin had leasing companies across Central America, including a majority stake in Financiera Arrendadora Centroamerican in Nicaragua.

Scotiabank purchases the remaining share of the business in 2007.

2006 - Banco Sudamericano - Scotiabank increases its minority share in Peruvian bank Banco Sudamericano to 100%.

Scotiabank combines the operations with those of recently acquired Banco Wiese Sudameris and rebrands the new entity Scotiabank Peru.

2006 - Maple Trust Company

Scotiabank acquires Maple Trust Company, a national leader in mortgage lending.

2006 - CorporaciĆ³n Interfin

Scotiabank acquires CorporaciĆ³n Interfin, Costa Rica's largest private bank. It is integrated into Scotiabankā€™s existing operations.

2006 - The Money Clip - Scotiabank launches The Money Clip, North Americaā€™s first podcast by a financial institution.

Shortly after launch, it is the top business podcast as ranked on iTunes Canada.

2006 - Travelers Leasing Corp.

Scotiabank acquires Travelers Leasing Corp., a leading automobile financing company based in Vancouver. The transaction closes in February 2007.
