2006 - Dehring Bunting & Golding Ltd. - Scotiabank and Scotiabank Jamaica acquire a majority stake in Dehring Bunting & Golding Ltd. (DB&G). DB&G is the fourth-largest securities dealer in the Jamaican financial market in terms of assets, profits and market capitalization and is the largest equity broker in the country.

2007 - TradeFreedom Securities Inc. - Scotiabank acquires TradeFreedom Securities Inc., a privately owned Canadian online brokerage boutique. TradeFreedom provides a sophisticated bundle of services for active traders and investors.
The acquisition complements the product offerings available through ScotiaMcLeod Direct Investing.
2007 - Banco del Desarrollo - Scotiabank acquires Banco del Desarrollo. It has a nationwide network and is Chile's seventh largest bank.
This deal represents Scotiabank’s largest acquisition to date and adds to the Bank's existing operations in Chile.
2008 - Russia - Scotiabank opens a Representative Office in Moscow in 2008, having received the required licence from Russian regulators in late 2007.

2008 - Bank the Rest - Scotiabank introduces Bank the Rest, a savings program that allows Canadians using their ScotiaCard to round-up their debit card purchases and have the difference deposited automatically into their savings account.
