Canada Post service disruption

Delivery delays due to Canada Post service disruption

As you may know, the Canada Post service disruption that began on Nov. 15, 2024, has ended. However, clients may still experience a delay in receiving items by mail while Canada Post resumes operations.

Mail delivery including paper statements, cards and cheques may be impacted.

Statement Delivery:

If you currently receive statements for your account(s) with us in the mail (via paper), the delivery of your statements may be delayed.

You are still required to continue to make your required payments (if any) to keep your account in good standing (such as in the case of credit cards or lines of credit, ensuring that we receive your minimum payment by the payment due date each month).

We recommend you consider switching to eStatements (if that is available for your account/statements) through the mobile app or online banking. Learn more about eStatements here

Alternatively, you can also call 1-877-552-5522 or visit any Scotiabank branch for additional information on your statement or to pay your bill.

If you are new to digital banking, please visit Scotiabank.com/signup or download the mobile app to get started. Learn how to download the Scotia Mobile app and log in for the first time on our digital banking guide at Scotiabank.com/BankYourWay

Card/Cheque Delivery Delays:

If you have recently applied for a credit card, a line of credit account or a bank account, or you are expecting a card replacement (lost, stolen, or expired) you may experience delays.

Effective starting Dec. 9, 2024, Scotiabank is arranging alternative methods of delivery for new credit and debit cards and replacements of those cards.

Please note you may contact us at 1-877-552-5522 to request your card delivered to your branch for local pick-up.

If you require immediate assistance with a debit card, please contact your closest branch.

If you have requested cheques on your account, cheques may also be delayed as Canada Post resumes operations.

Term Loan Renewal Letter:

If you have a term loan coming up for renewal, you may experience delays receiving your Term Loan Renewal Letter.

If you would like to discuss your term loan renewal options, you can Book an appointment with an advisor or call 1-877-552-5522.
