Aris Bogdaneris

Aris Bogdaneris was appointed Group Head, Canadian Banking in November 2023. In this role, Aris leads our Personal and Commercial Banking and Insurance businesses in Canada, with additional responsibility for the Tangerine business and oversight of Customer Insights, Data & Analytics, Global Marketing and Real Estate. He was previously Group Head, Digital Transformation, Tangerine, Marketing and Analytics.

Aris brings to Scotiabank more than 25 years of experience in diverse operating roles in global financial institutions across Europe and North America. Prior to joining Scotiabank, Aris was a senior executive at ING, headquartered in the Netherlands, where he was a Member of the Management Board as the Global Head of Retail Banking and Head of Challenger & Growth Markets, responsible for Retail Banking globally and for ING’s universal banking units located outside the Benelux home market. He has extensive experience in retail banking gained both at managing local country operations as well as overseeing global business lines operating cross-border. He has a proven track record in delivering strong and sustainable business growth in retail and commercial banking, with significant success in achieving industry-leading client satisfaction and employee engagement.

Aris holds a Master of Arts, International Economics and International Relations, from Johns Hopkins University in the U.S., and a Bachelor of Arts, International Relations and Business from the University of South Florida in the U.S.
