Aris Bogdaneris

After 30 years working abroad in diverse operating roles across 25 countries, Aris returned to Canada in 2023 and joined Scotiabank. Originally from Montreal, in November 2023 Aris was appointed to Group Head and now leads Scotiabank's Canadian Banking team including Retail, Commercial, Tangerine and Small Business.

Prior to joining Scotiabank, Aris was a senior executive at ING, headquartered in the Netherlands, where he was a Member of the Management Board as the Global Head of Retail Banking and Head of Challenger & Growth Markets - ING’s universal banking units located outside the Benelux home market. He has extensive experience in Retail Banking, Operations and Digital Banking. He has a proven track record in delivering strong and sustainable business growth in Retail and Commercial banking, with significant success in achieving industry-leading client satisfaction and employee engagement.

Aris holds a Master of Arts, International Economics and International Relations, from Johns Hopkins University in the U.S., and a Bachelor of Arts, International Relations and Business from the University of South Florida in the U.S. where he was also an accomplished Division 1 NCAA soccer player. Aris lives in Toronto with his wife and three sons.
