Francisco Aristeguieta was appointed Group Head, International Banking at Scotiabank in May 2023 and is responsible for overseeing a business line which services 12 million Retail, Corporate, and Commercial clients with a presence in over 15 countries. In this role, Francisco drives a strategy focused on providing greater client connectivity across the Bank’s unique geographical footprint. He also has responsibility for cash management and trade through Global Transaction Banking and the Bank’s Multinational banking organization providing a differentiated coverage and service proposition for our most geographically diversified and complex clients.

Francisco is a seasoned global banking leader with more than 30 years of leadership experience managing large businesses and successfully implementing strategic change and transformation across Consumer, Wealth Management and Institutional Corporate & Investment Banking for major financial services organizations in a wide range of markets including Latin America, North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Francisco holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Brunel University in England. He also has a graduate degree in Banking and Finance and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela.

Francisco has served on numerous boards in the U.S., Asia, and Latin America. He currently serves on the boards of the Hanover Insurance Group, the Americas Society/Council of the Americas, and has been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) since 2003.
