Michael Zerbs

As Scotiabank’s Group Head of Technology, Michael is responsible for the Bank’s overall technology and innovation strategy, as well as the development, implementation, and management of all employee and client-facing technology systems and programming.

Before his appointment to Group Head, Michael was Scotiabank’s Chief Technology Officer, and EVP of Information and Enterprise Technology. Prior to joining Scotiabank, Michael was President and Chief Operating Officer at Algorithmics and Vice President, Risk Analytics at IBM.

Michael holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, as well as a PhD of Philosophy from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz and an MSc from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences and Unity Health.
