Chris Manning was appointed Executive Vice President, Canadian Commercial Banking on May 1, 2024. In this role, he is responsible for all facets of the business, including setting strategy and leading execution, focusing on key growth opportunities, and enhancing client relationships.

Chris joined Scotiabank’s Roynat Capital business in 2007 and since then he has held progressively senior roles across International Corporate & Commercial Banking, Canadian Commercial Banking, Global Risk Management, and Global Banking and Markets. 

Most recently, as Executive Vice President of Global Transaction Banking, Chris was responsible for Scotiabank’s global payments vision and strategy, including oversight of wholesale deposits and treasury services, trade finance, correspondent banking and digital channels for business clients across markets.

Chris was a member of the Board of Junior Achievement Central Ontario, standing as Chair of the Board from 2020-2022. In 2023, Chris joined the Board of Governors for the organization. In 2022, Chris was recognized by Women in Capital Markets with a Champions of Change Award for his leadership in advancing equality in the Canadian finance industry and fostering a culture of inclusion throughout Scotiabank’s global footprint. He holds an MBA from Queen University’s Smith School of Business.
