Diego Masola

Diego Masola was appointed to the position of EVP and Country Head, Scotiabank Chile in June 2021. As the Bank’s senior executive in Chile, Diego is responsible for all Scotiabank’s investments and the overall strategic direction, growth and sustainability for all personal, small business and wholesale banking activities in the country.
Diego joined Scotiabank in 2001 as a Senior Branch Manager for the Mar del Plata region in Argentina. Over his career with Scotiabank, Diego has taken on increasingly senior roles in Retail Banking, Global Risk Management, Commercial Banking and Country Management across the Bank’s global footprint including Dominican Republic, Canada, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. In 2018, Diego was appointed SVP, Central America and CEO, Costa Rica. In this role, Diego was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Bank’s operations in the region and designed and executed our new Digital Strategy in Central America, including front, middle and back office digitalization and automation through Agile and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Diego has a degree in Public Accounting from the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata in Argentina, and a Postgraduate degree in Marketing from the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, and the Universidad Federal de Rio Grande do Sul. He also took several Leadership courses with the Ivey School of Business in Canada, and Kellog & Duke, Universities in the USA.
Diego and his wife Karina have two children.
