Glen Gowland was appointed Vice Chair at Scotiabank on December 1, 2023. Previously, he served as Group Head, Global Wealth Management, in which he was responsible for growing Scotiabank’s wealth management revenues globally and executing strategies that deliver total wealth solutions to the Bank’s current and prospective clients.

Glen has over 25 years of investment management and banking experience. Since joining Scotiabank in 2000, he has held senior leadership roles in Wealth Management and Asset Management. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President, Global Wealth Management. He has served and chaired numerous Boards, including Co-Chair of Scotia Capital, and Chairman of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada.

Glen is very active in competitive sports and coaching. He is a Level 4 ski instructor and examiner with the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, as well as an active mentor in the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation.
