Paul Baroni was appointed Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Canadian Banking in September 2023. In this role, Paul is Chief Financial Officer to Scotiabank’s Personal and Commercial banking businesses in Canada, with additional oversight over the Bank’s Global Procurement and Global Taxation functions.

Paul joined Scotiabank in 2000 and has served in increasingly senior roles at the Bank including Global Banking and Markets Operations, CFO of the International Bank, and most recently as the Bank’s Chief Auditor. Prior to joining Scotiabank, he worked at KPMG specializing in auditing the results of mining and financial services corporations in South Africa and Canada.

Paul is a Chartered Accountant from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and holds a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant designation as well.

Paul and his wife, Vicki, have one son.
