Wondering how your investments are performing? Starting in January 2017, you can easily find out with the new Annual Performance Report, included in your December 2016 Personal Portfolio Statement.

Here's what you'll see in your report:

  • Personal rates of return over multiple time periods

  • Changes in the value of your account over the past year and since account opening (dating back to January 2013)*

Period reflected in this report. The performance of your investments over various time periods. This report provides a personal rate of return for your account using money-weighted rate of return methodology.
Your personal rate of return is affected by deposits and withdrawals from your account, changes in value of your investments, interest income and distributions from your investments. Rates of return are calculated after fees have been deducted.
Net amount (total deposits, including distributions, minus total withdrawals) you have invested since opening your account or January 1, 2013, whichever is more recent. Your account type and number.
Account types include: Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA), Retirement Savings Plan (RSP), etc.
Annualized performance of your account dating back to January 2013. Accounts opened before January 1, 2013 will not include performance data before January 1, 2013. Market value of account at the end of the year. Annual cumulative change in market value since opening your account or January 1, 2013, whichever is more recent. Total amount deposited in the calendar year. The total amount withdrawn in the calendar year. Total deposited since opening your account or since January 1, 2013, whichever is more recent. Total amounts withdrawn since opening your account or since January 1, 2013, whichever is more recent. Net amount (total deposits, minus total withdrawals) invested in the calendar year. Net amount invested since the account opening or January 1, 2013, whichever is more recent. The cumulative change in your market value from January 1 to December 31. Cumulative change in your market value since the account opening or January 1, 2013, whichever is more recent, to December 31. Closing market value as at the end of the calendar year.
