Life
- Coverage if you pass away so your loved ones don’t have to finance your outstanding credit card balance
- Up to $50,000 maximum benefit
Critical Illness
- If you experience a covered Critical Illness (heart attack, stroke, coronary artery bypass surgery, cancer, blindness, paralysis, deafness and/or coma) you and your loved ones will have help covering some of your outstanding debt.
- Up to $50,000 maximum benefit toward your outstanding credit card balance.
Hospitalization
- Coverage for your outstanding credit card balance if you are hospitalized due to an accidental bodily injury or unforeseen sickness.
- Up to $50,000 maximum benefit
Disability4
- Covers 20% of your monthly outstanding account balance, up to $10,000 per month, for up to 5 months if it has been determined by your Doctor that you are prevented by any medical condition from performing your normal activities of daily living or the regular duties of your employment or self-employment, as applicable.
Job Loss4
- Covers 20% of your monthly outstanding account balance, up to a $10,000 per month, for up to 5 months if you experience an involuntary job loss.
Strike or Lockout
- If your work is disrupted due to a strike or lockout, this coverage can make monthly payments:
- Equal to 20% of your monthly outstanding account balance.
- Covers up to $10,000 per month, for up to 5 months.

Scotia Credit Card Protection is underwritten by Chubb Life Insurance Company of Canada: Tel: 1-800-387-7199, Option 3, or www.chubb.com under a Group Policy issued to the Bank of Nova Scotia. All coverage is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Certificate of Insurance which you will receive upon enrolment.
The insurance premium and applicable sales tax will be charged to your Scotiabank credit card account. The Bank of Nova Scotia receives an administration fee from the Insurer to distribute this insurance.
The Bank of Nova Scotia and its employees are not agents of Chubb Life Insurance Company of Canada, nor can they waive or change any terms of the Scotia Credit Card Protection plan.
