CONTEST RULES
* NO PURCHASE OR ACCOUNT NECESSARY TO ENTER. A PURCHASE OR ACCOUNT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. By participating in this contest (“Contest”) you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions set out by Willful (the “Sponsor”), which are final and binding.
1. WHO CAN ENTER
This Contest is open only to Scotiabank clients who are legal residents of Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador, who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date of entry.
Excluded from eligibility are Quebec residents, the employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of the Sponsor and Scotiabank and their affiliates, and each of their advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family of such employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives, and individuals living in the same household with such employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives are not eligible to participate in the Contest. “Immediate family” is defined as parents, siblings, children or spouse.
2. CONTEST PERIOD
The "Win the Trip of a Lifetime" Contest runs from June 2, 2026 at 12:00:01 am Eastern Time (“ET”) to July 2, 2026 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Contest Period”).
3. HOW TO ENTER
To enter, eligible entrants have two options:
i) open a new Willful account through the link in this communication and purchase a plan during the Contest Period to earn one (1) entry.
ii) To enter without purchase, submit an entry of 100 words or fewer explaining why you want to win via the form at https://scotiabank.willful.co/nopurchasenecessary.
There is a limit of 1 entry per eligible entrant regardless of the method of entry or number of plans purchased.
(iii) Webinar Bonus Entry: In addition to the foregoing, eligible entrants who register for and attend the free Willful educational webinar scheduled for June 23, 2026 (the “Webinar”) during the Contest Period will receive one (1) additional entry into a separate webinar only prize draw. Attendance at the Webinar is not required to enter the Contest or to be eligible to win any prize other than the webinar only prizes described below.
4. PRIZES
There are eleven (11) prizes available to be awarded in the Contest (each a “Prize”). Limit of one (1) Prize per eligible entrant, regardless of the number of plans purchased.
Grand Prize: One (1) Air Canada gift card valued at $10,000
Other Prizes: One of eight (8) Scene+™ gift cards of 20,000 points (valued at $200 each).
Webinar Only Prizes: Two (2) additional Scene+™ gift card prizes of 20,000 points each (valued at $200 each), will be awarded in a separate draw exclusively among eligible entrants who register for and attend the Webinar.
The travel gift card Prize may be subject to additional terms and conditions of the supplier. For Scene+™ gift card Prizes, the winning entrant must either be an existing registered Scene+ member or enroll in the Scene+™ Program to become a member. Scene+ gift cards can only be claimed once and must be claimed before May 27th, 2027. Scene+ gift cards are subject to Scene+ program terms and conditions. All Prizes are non-transferable, non-saleable and are not redeemable for cash. Prizes that are lost, stolen or used without permission will not be replaced.
The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any Prize, in whole or in part, for one of equal or greater value if all or any of the components of the Prize are unavailable. If a winner is unable to redeem their Prize, in whole or in part, due to reasons beyond the control of the Sponsor, no compensation or substitution prize will be provided. All Prizes must be accepted as awarded, without substitutions, and are not transferable, assignable, or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion).
5. PRIZE DRAW
A random draw will be conducted on or around July 15, 2026 from all eligible participants of the Contest. There will be one (1) participant randomly chosen as the potential Grand Prize winner and eight (8) participants randomly chosen for the Scene+ gift card prizes. Following the Grand Prize draw, another random draw will be conducted from all eligible Contest participants who registered for and attended the Webinar.
Odds of being selected as a winner will depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period for each draw.
6. SELECTION OF WINNER
The selected participants will be notified by the email address that is associated with the participant’s Willful Account or their no purchase entry (as applicable) within forty-eight (48) hours of the Prize drawing that they have been selected as the potential winner of a Prize.
In order to be declared the Prize winner and receive a Prize, in addition to complying with these Contest Rules, the selected entrant must:
a) be a Scotiabank client in good standing on or before July 2, 2026 at 11:59:59 pm ET, residing in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador and age of majority at the time of Prize award;
b) respond to the notification from Sponsor within forty-eight (48) hours and provide any additional information requested by Sponsor to arrange the awarding of the Prize;
c) correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by mail, email or phone, as Sponsor determines;
d) sign a release form confirming acceptance of the Prize as awarded and releasing Sponsor and their affiliates from any liability relating to the Prize and return it to Sponsor within three (3) days from the date of receipt; and
e) agree to receive the Prize as awarded. Instructions on how to claim the Prize will be provided by Sponsor.
Should a selected entrant fail to meet any of these Terms and Conditions, cannot be reached, or fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or if a Prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the selected participant will be disqualified. In that case, a new random draw may be conducted from amongst all remaining eligible participants in accordance with these terms and conditions in order to select another potential Prize winner, who will be subject to the same conditions and could be disqualified in the same manner.
By accepting the Prize, the winner consents to the use by Sponsor of his/her name, address (city and province), photo, image, likeness, biographical information, voice and/or any statements made by the winner regarding the Contest or Sponsor for promotional, advertising, marketing, publicity and commercial purposes in any and all media now or hereafter devised, including but not limited to, any online announcements, worldwide in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, or permission, except where prohibited by law.
7. GENERAL RULES
By participating in this Contest, participants accept and agree to be bound by these Rules, including all eligibility requirements and the decisions of the Sponsor and their independent judging organization, if any, which are final and binding without right of appeal on all matters relating to this Contest. Sponsor reserve the right to disqualify all participants who fail to comply with these Rules or who make any misrepresentation relating to the Contest, drawing and redemption of any Prize.
By participating, participants release and hold harmless Sponsor, The Bank of Nova Scotia and their affiliates, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies affiliated with this Contest, prize suppliers, and participating establishments appointed by Sponsor (collectively the “Promotion Entities”), from any claims, actions, injury, loss, or damage of any kind, including, but not limited to, illness, personal injury or death, resulting, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participating in this Contest or from the acceptance, possession, or use or misuse of a Prize or any portion thereof (including any travel/activity related thereto). This limitation of liability is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) compensatory, direct, indirect, or consequential damages; loss of data, income or profit; loss of damage to property; and claims of third parties.
The Sponsor shall not be responsible for any failure of email during the Contest or for any problems or technical malfunction of a telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email, online, or Internet entry to be received by the Sponsor. In addition, the Sponsor shall not be responsible for technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to a participant's or any other person’s computer, or property related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. The Sponsor reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, extend or modify this Contest without notice, obligation or liability if in the Sponsor’s opinion there is any suspected or actual evidence of tampering with any portion of the Contest, or if virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, force majeure or other causes corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, or integrity and proper participation of the Contest, or for any other reason in Sponsor’s sole discretion. In such case, Sponsor may select the winner(s) from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Sponsor. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, incomplete, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way, or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules.
The Promotion Entities shall not be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, the Prizes awarded in this Contest, including but not limited to typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, these Rules, the selection of eligible participants or the distribution of the Prizes. The Sponsor and their affiliates, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, partners, partnerships, principals, representatives, agents, licensees, successors and assigns (i) make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning the Prizes, (ii) disclaim any implied warranty or condition, and (iii) are not liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from the acceptance, use or misuse of the Prizes, travel related thereto or otherwise from participation in this Contest.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms of these Rules, the requirements or statements contained in any short-form Contest Rules, advertising materials and/or the French version of these Rules (if any), the requirements and conditions of these English Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of the Province of Ontario without regard to Ontario conflicts of law principles. All participants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the Province of Ontario.
Disputes
Except where prohibited, entrants agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the "Win the Trip of a Lifetime" Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Ontario.
8. PRIVACY
The Sponsor is committed to respecting the privacy rights of participants. Any personal information collected will be handled in strict accordance with Willful’s Privacy Policy and all applicable privacy legislation. The Sponsor will not sell any personal information collected for this Contest to any third parties. Except as otherwise set forth herein with respect to the Prize recipients, any personal information collected for this Contest shall be collected, used and disclosed by the Sponsor solely for the purpose of managing and administering this Contest. By participating in this Contest, the participant hereby consents to the Sponsor’s collection, use and disclosure of the participant’s personal information in order to manage and administer this Contest.
