Possible Canada Post Labour Disruption

Information on possible Canada Post labour disruption

As you may know, there is a potential postal disruption at Canada Post in November and we are closely monitoring updates. In the event that there is a service disruption, mail delivery including paper statements, cards and cheques will be impacted.

Statement Delivery:

If you currently receive statements for your account(s) with us in the mail (via paper), in the event of a postal disruption, the delivery of your statements will not be distributed by mail until the postal disruption is over.

You are still required to continue to make your required payments (if any) even during this postal disruption to keep your account in good standing (such as in the case of credit cards or lines of credit, ensuring that we receive your minimum payment by the payment due date each month).

To avoid this interruption, we recommend you consider switching to eStatements (if that is available for your account/statements) through the mobile app or online banking. Learn more about eStatements here.

Alternatively, you can also call 1-800-4-SCOTIA or visit any Scotiabank branch for additional information on your statement or to pay your bill.

If you are new to digital banking, please visit Scotiabank.com/signup or download the mobile app to get started. Learn how to download the Scotia Mobile app and log in for the first time on our digital banking guide at Scotiabank.com/BankYourWay

Card/Cheque Delivery Delays:

If the postal disruption continues and you have recently applied for a credit card, ScotiaLine with access card, or you are expecting a card replacement (lost, stolen, or expired) you may experience delays.  Please note you may contact us at 1-800-4-SCOTIA to request your card delivered to your branch for local pick-up.

If you require immediate assistance with a debit card, please contact your closest branch.

If you have requested cheques on your account, cheques will also be delayed and held until the labour disruption is over.
