Grocery and more coming soon to Scene+

Empire Company Limited (“Empire”) is joining Scotiabank and Cineplex as a co-owner of the Scene+ program. This partnership will bring more opportunities for program members to earn rewards faster including grocery, pharmacy and more.

Today, as a Scotiabank customer, you can earn Scene+ points on everyday purchases when you use an eligible Scotiabank Scene+ debit or credit card. Beginning this August in Atlantic Canada, you can earn points even faster at participating Empire banners by using both your Scene+ membership and a Scotiabank Scene+ debit or credit card to make an eligible purchase.

Scene+ points will be available at participating Empire banners in Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec throughout 2022 and early 2023.

Starting in August 2022, Scene+ points will be available at participating Empire banners in Atlantic Canada, followed by Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec throughout 2022 and early 2023.

Beginning with Atlantic Canada, you can use your Scene+ membership and Scotiabank Scene+ debit or credit card to earn points two ways at once at Empire banners.

Empire will roll out Scene+ across its banners including Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland, IGA, FreshCo, Chalo! FreshCo, Voilà by Sobeys/Safeway/IGA, Needs, Thrifty Foods, IGA West, Les Marchés Tradition, Rachelle Béry, Lawtons Drugs, Co-Op, and its liquor stores.

The rollout will begin in Atlantic Canada starting in August 2022, followed by the Western provinces and Ontario later in 2022, and Quebec in early 2023.

There are two ways you can earn Scene+ points at Empire banners – with your Scene+ membership card and with your eligible Scotiabank Scene+ debit or credit card.

You can earn points even faster at participating Empire banners by using both your Scene+ membership and an eligible Scotiabank Scene+ debit or credit card to make an eligible purchase.

Current eligible Scotiabank Scene+ debit and credit cards are:

• Scotiabank Passport ScotiaCard®* Debit Card (Stop Sold)
• Scotiabank Gold American Express^® Credit Card
• Scotiabank American Express^® Credit Card

• Scotiabank Passport^TM Visa Infinite^* Credit Card
• SCENE®^ Visa^* Credit Card (including the SCENE®^ Visa^* Credit Card for Students)
• ScotiaGold Passport®*  Visa^* Credit Card
• Scotiabank Passport^TM Visa Infinite Business* Credit Card

This exciting new change will not impact your existing Scene+ points balance.

You can get your Scene+ membership number emailed to you by visiting https://www.sceneplus.ca/en-ca/send-my-card. If there has been a change to your email or you require further assistance, please contact our Help Center for support.

You can request a digital Scene+ membership card be emailed to you by visiting https://www.sceneplus.ca/en-ca/send-my-card.  

You can view your points through the Scotiabank App or by logging in to Scotia OnLine. You can also see your points by logging into sceneplus.ca

Please note that your total points shown include all of the Scene+ points that you have earned with your eligible Scotiabank payment cards and your Scene+ membership card. Points are updated within 2-3 business days.

Resetting your password is easy, just follow the steps listed on the password reset page on sceneplus.ca and you will be able to reset your password immediately! 

Yes, Scene+ members can continue to earn and redeem points at travel, shopping, dining, entertainment, and other rewards partners that are part of Scene+. A complete list of partners can be found at sceneplus.ca.

We’re pleased to let you know that existing Scene+ members can continue to use their existing Scene+ membership at Empire banners and all participating rewards partners.

There are no changes to your Scotiabank Scene+ ScotiaCard debit card or Passport ScotiaCard debit card (stop sold) as a result of this change.

There are also no changes to the following Scotiabank bank accounts that are eligible for Scene+:

• Ultimate Package
• Preferred Package
• Student Banking Advantage®* Plan
• Getting There Savings Program for Youth
• Private Banking Account

There are no changes to your Scotiabank credit cards that earn Scene+ points as a result of this change.

With the introduction of Empire as a new rewards partner and co-owner, changes have been made to the Scene+ Program’s Terms and Conditions, which include the addition of the “Additional Terms and Conditions for Empire”.  These new Additional Terms and Conditions for Empire apply to Empire, including how you earn points at Empire’s participating banner locations.
