Make on-the-go payments quickly with
Google Pay and your Scotiabank Debit and Visa* cards.

 

Google Pay allows you to make in-store, online, and in-app purchases using an eligible Android device.

Add your ScotiaCard^® debit card and Scotiabank Visa card to pay for goods and services at merchants that accept contactless payments. Make in-app purchases on your eligible Android smartphone wherever you see the “Google Pay” icon at the online checkout page.

Any Android smartphones and tablets running Kit Kat 4.4 and above. To make in-store payments, your phone also needs to support NFC (Near Field Communication). To check for NFC, look for it in your phone’s Settings app. You can make in-app payments even if your phone does not have HCE.

• An Android smartphone running operating system 4.4 (Kit Kat) or higher
• An eligible Scotiabank ScotiaCard^® debit card or Scotiabank Visa card

Google Pay is ready to use after adding an eligible Scotiabank payment card to Google Pay.

1. Download the Google Pay app from the Google Play store.

2. Open the Google Pay app and follow the instructional prompts to add your ScotiaCard^® debit card or Scotiabank Visa card.

• To add a Scotiabank payment card on an eligible Android Smartphone:
  • Open the wallet app on the Android device
  • Tap the plus sign in the lower corner
  • Select ‘Add a Credit or Debit Card’
  • Follow the instructional prompts

There is no cost to register a Scotiabank payment card in Google Pay. Standard account level and card account fees still apply. Wireless carrier data and messaging charges still apply.

The first card that is added to Google Pay will automatically become the default payment card. To edit the default card please review the following:

On the eligible Android Smartphone choose the Scotiabank payment card the customer would like to select as default and Tap the card 

Tap “set as default card”

There are no restrictions on the number of cards you can add to Google Pay.

If you believe the Scotiabank payment card information you used for Google Pay has been stolen or compromised, please call Scotiabank immediately at 1-844-230-0721.

• Your Scotiabank payment card purchases through Google Pay are protected against unauthorized transactions with Visa's Zero Liability Policy, and Interac Zero Liability Policy.
  • Scotiabank payment card information is never shared with Android or the merchant
• Transaction information is never shared with Android
